Portugal Film Commission’s (PFC) main objectives are to support and promote cinema and audiovisual, and the internationalization of Portugal as a filming destination. PFC is a Portuguese government project group – Culture and Tourism – that follows the creation of the Support Fund for Tourism and Cinema, in 2018.
Portugal created one of the most competitive incentive systems in Europe: a cash rebate that applies to film and TV, with the minimum qualified Portuguese production expenses (QPPE) of €500.000,00 for fiction and animation and €250.000,00 for documentaries and post-production.
In close connection with public and private organizations – regional film commissions, city councils, and many others – PFC helps national and international producers who need assistance throughout the filming process, and provides extensive location and production guides, thus creating conditions for the film and audiovisual sector to thrive, and facilitating partnerships with great productions / studios that choose Portugal as a filming destination.
